History and Growth

Cyberia has been established since 1999 with a long term goal to be the best IT Solution Provider in South East Asia region. Currently, the company has been recognized and granted permission to operate under the supervision of Science Technology and Environment Agency (STEA) of the Government of Lao PDR.

At the beginning, Cyberia operated under the business type of ‘Individual Enterprise’ mainly as an Internet Café due to high demand for local citizens and foreign travelers to access the Internet at that time. At the same time, computer system maintenance service was also provided on both contractual and ad-hoc basis for SMEs in Vientiane Capital.

Since beginning of 2001, businesses in Laos, especially tourism and handicraft industries, have begun to recognize the importance of having web presence. At the time, in addition to the existing services, Cyberia started to provide website design and development service for those businesses. It is believed that Cyberia was the pioneer of website design and development in Laos.

Because of high demand in other types of IT services such as web application development, customized IT training, outsourcing and consulting, the management of Cyberia decided to increase the company’s registered capital and upgraded the business to be known as ‘Cyberia Co., Ltd.’ since 2005.

Since the middle of 2008, Cyberia has been appointed as the one and only IBM Business Partner in Lao PDR to provide a full range of IBM solutions and supports.

Executive Management

Thongsavanh

Thongsavanh Phalatsyotha
Co-Founder & Managing Director

Thongsavanh has mechanical engineering background but has been involved in computer technology especially hardware setup and configuration, server and network maintenance for more than 15 years.

Since the very beginning, Thongsavanh has been in charge as the Managing Director of the company. In addition, he is also responsible for supervising business operation in terms of supplying hardware, implementing networking solutions and providing system maintenance.

Anousa Souannavong
Co-Founder & CTO

After graduating from Vientiane High School in Laos, Anousa was awarded with a bilateral scholarship to study in Australia and spent almost 7 years there. Anousa has graduated with a Master Degree in Information Technology specializing in data communications from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane.

Right after his return, he had worked as a IT consultant at the PricewaterhouseCoopers (Laos) for 2 years, then decided to establish an IT company with Thongsavanh.

Based on his specialization, Anousa has been in charge for providing IT services in relation to IT consulting, website and application software design and development, customized IT training, security evaluation and network implementation.
